Saturday, September 19 @ 7:30pm, at our apartment in the Duboce Triangle neighborhood of San Francisco.
The food will be a tasting menu of six to ten courses, plus the usual extras. Cost is $55/person. Beverage pairings will be available to fit your budget (we will discuss once you're confirmed), or BYOB.
Eight to ten seats are available. Seats will be filled in order of RSVPs, with a wait list if necessary. Cancellations must be no later than September 12. RSVP to david AT eatfoo dotcom with desired number of seats and any dietary restrictions (we will try to work around allergies and severe dislikes).
To give you an idea of what to expect, check out this post about the last dinner, with its menu here.

two things:
(1) you aren't going to explain what "lazy bear" means and where it came from?
(2) you aren't going to give me credit for it?!?

1) No, not yet.
2) See (1).

This whole idea sounds very interesting to me, although I'm admittedly not the most socially outgoing, what with the "eating with strangers" thing and all.
A question though: How far in advance do you have an idea of the menu? One would hate to sign up and appear, only to be unable to enjoy parts of the meal due to dietary restrictions conflicting with the menu. My thing is both fish and shellfish. Pretty much anything from the water, I can't eat, unfortunately, even seemingly loosely-related things like seaweed. Something about it doesn't agree with me in a big way, so I never even attempt it anymore.

Wow! Wish we were around on the 19th! I'll have to monitor your blog for the next occasion -- we'd definitely be interested!

JonYo, I'm sure it'll be a friendly bunch of people. As for your allergies, the first thing I find out is any dietary restrictions AND strong dislikes. We work around them. No fish or shellfish allergy would be an easy one to work around. There's a vegetarian coming, which is vastly harder. What do you substitute for pork belly, or for a roulade of goat?
Confabulist (O or R?), we'd love to have you for next time. Oh, and we are very much looking forward to The Heist!
